If you are really interested, I would find out if the engine really was rebuilt, look at the reciepts and evaluate what has to still be done. If everything said in the ad was done properly, this could be a $10,000 car. Put another $6k in paint and $2k in upholstery, reassemble and you have a restored '36T Broughom, with a side-mount, cool!

So are you saying that this car is worth $12,500 at its current condition?

To me if your car is taken a part and off the frame that drops the value dramatically. That car would be worth more if it were still together. Everyone takes a car a part differently some organized some just put everything in buckets.

I didn't say that the car is worth $12,500. What I said was, that if the engine has indeed been professionally rebuilt, that could easily be worth $5k, I don't know what she means by, "new frame" however it could mean that the entire chassis has been reconditioned, which is worth quite a bit - $8K in "new parts," ask to see receipts. One can easily spend $20k restoring a '36T, you could be 1/2 way there. If it looks good, make an offer.
  • $12,500 in the present condition is crazy money. I'd go $3K, maybe.

Plus, the pics are nearly a year old. Who knows what walked away since?
