Anyone out there know where I can find a good set of used doors for a 47hudson pu?

    FYI

If you dont find good doors I found from experience that old rusted doors can usually be repaired with new bottoms attached and hold up well...

I believe I've heard that these are identical with the 1941 Hudson cars (the 1942-6-and -7 doors have the flare at the bottom). You could ask amongst 'the usual suspects" who advertise Hudson parts in the WTN. I'm sure someone has a decent pair out there.

Yes, and the doors with the flare are regular (truck) type doors underneath. If you cut off the flare the door skin you want is still under it. But it will then need repaired to be usable.:)
  • '41 sedan doors will be what you want. The '46-'47 sedan lower hinge is narrower than the truck or the '41 doors. I believe they did it because of the kick-out on the lowers of the '46-'47 cars

This could be overcome by switching to the '41 style hinge I would think.
  • Yea, you could grind the rivets that hold the lower hinge off and switch hinges. You may also look at narrowing the lower hing on the cowl of the truck. There are aways lots of options, it just depends on how hard you want to work at it.:)

I used a 46/7 sedan on our 46 pick up with no problem. All i had to do was weld in patch about 1" x 3 " on end. I can't remember any hinge problem, but may have used original hinge.
