trans access panel

Here's a quick question for all your '46-'47 Hudson owners. Was there a different transmission access panel on the floor on drivemaster equiped cars? A chapter member noted that there's a bump on the floor in front of the acelerator pedal and says the thing is uncomfortable on his foot. This used to be a drivemaster car. I told him I didn't know if floor panels were flat on the non-drivemaster equipped cars. Does anyone know?

    G'Day Aaron,

I have just been out and looked at the floor panel on my drivemaster 1942 Hudson and there does appear to be an extra bump just behind the accelerator pedal, without climbing under the car, looking from under the hood, it appears that bump is needed to clear the rods that come down off the engine block for the drivemaster.

I have driven my car for over 20 years now and have never had a problem with the extra bump in the floor pan. I suppose I have got used to it, and have never even thought of it.
