As happens too often, the email link in this Craigslist ad doesn't seem to work. That or the seller hasn't responded to my messages. :(

This is why I always put a phone number in my Craigslist listings.

Anyone else have any luck contacting this seller?
_____________ I clicked on the link in Kerry's post and sent a msg. It looked like it sent the same as if directly from Craigs list . ----Haven't gotten a reply yet as I just now sent it , ----NOT TRYING TO BEAT YOU OUT <> JUST DOING A TEST

  • After any of you check out the body on this '49er, don't forget to check you own body for ticks! I understand they can be quite common in this part of the country and are potential carriers of Lyme disease.

I worked in northern Minn. in the iron mines as a youngster . Used go up in there fishin n huntin . Throw your butt out there fer 2 weeks and see what it looks like ! Gotta be tough to even survive outa doors in them parts ! And that thar shotgun ain't agonna do yah no good on them Northen Minnysota skeeters , getcha a GATLIN GUN !! BUD
  • I wasted a day going to look at that 50. Guy asked me what I was willing to give for it, I said $500. I've never seen somebody get so pissed off over a car! The drivers door jumped off when I tried to open it.Front, rear, and trunk pans were completely gone. Passenger door was was missing the bottom two inches. Motor stuck and the roof was caved in. Now if you read the description, he claims it is an straight-easy resto.

My question is.... what what ever happened to truth in advertising?

I offered the guy $500, and he said I wasn't even in the ball park. I made the same comment as Ed. It looks awful rusted for only being outside a couple of weeks. He told me he was looking for around $3,000.00. I ask for more photos, but he never sent them. Also to give me a call, and he did not. I think my old buddy Walt is right. Most of the Hudson's here in the far north that sat out at all are to far gone!! Rust buckets!! Maybe Jerri will make the trip?? Also THANKS Jerri for your help getting my Hollywood timed correctly. I owe you buddy!! See ya soon Walt & Dawn.
  • Northern Minn. cars fight 2 problems , salt on roads and if taken into the mineing area iron ore dust , that stuff sticks to anything and everything , combine the 2 and it really eats them up . I've had 3 relatives fly down here to get rust free modern cars I got for them .

Sounds like you were generous with the $500.00 offfer, Walt. I found better than that for a hundred.

I thought that also. The title was half of the offer (and I have a weakness for the broughms).

The guy called me today while I was in the junk yard hunting some donut spare tires. It seems they are hoping for 5,000.00 but I assured him from what I could see in his pictures, I would guess 1,000 or so. It does sound like a solid car but then again, he has not seen the underneath. It had been stored in a shed for over 35 years.

You guys need to check it out.

I hope it is worth the trip. So many times they think it's gold, but it is a rust bucket!! For only being outside for a couple weeks, the grass is awful tall. It shows no tire tracks as having been moved there after 35 years storage. good luck Jerri.

Told him almost word for word the same thing. At least you talked on the phone to him which I think is better than E mail. You get a better feel for a person. Thanks for working to find out about the car!! Maybe a Hudson guy will end up with it, and save another Great Hudson.Keep us posted Jerri.

I told him the same thing about the floor, trunk and frame rail rust issues.

So he should be well versed by now.

Anyone who knows me can drive by my house via "Googlemaps" and see I've got no more project room, Bud. I might be persuaded into a drive up north to look at a solid coupe at a nice price, though. At the very least I'd bring back more pictures. I ain't askeered a no ticks, though. But skeeters... I can tell you stories about Minnesota skeeters. Why there was this one time I was up north and a sudden cloud looked kinda funny, and sure enough when I looked up...

    well, nother thread I spose...
