I am a newbie at this, but so far so good. The problem I am perplexed with is how do I get the window panes out of my doors for my 46 hudson commodore 8 without breaking anything. I have been staring at the door for about an hour now and am getting a headache. Thanks in advance!!

It's easy, but you really need a Mechanical Procedure Manual from the club store for the 42 to 47 years. Remember, once you get em out, you have to get em back in so they work.

Again, let me suggest you do a bit of research (like consulting your H-E-T roster if you're a member) to discover if there are any '46-7 owners near you. I see by your phone number that you're in Pennsylvania - a hotbed of Hudson collecting! Most Hudson owners have had to fiddle with their cars (as opposed to having someone else do it) by necessity. A nearby owner might even be able to give you a first-hand demonstration on the ins and outs of glass removal / installation.

    FYI

Ive done glass replacements but time lapses in-between jobs. Ill try to recall but someone jump in if I miss a step. Take your time and dont let it intimidate you because it can be done after reviewing few steps.

Remove the window garnish moulding, door panel, and unbolt the whole wing window assy (top and bottom).

    Unbolt the rear verticle bracket

The glass channel (at the bottom of the window) has a large hole that when window is rolled to that spot enables the glass to detach from the regulator assy then drop further down.

Next, the window glass needs rotated into a certain position to come out of the door.

To install reverse the steps. (I usually remove more then needed to be easier)

Most Glass Companies will cut a flat piece of glass from pattern

The channrel needs re-attached to new window. Previously, used piece felt but now they recommend new Windshield bond available at Paint & Body Suppliers.
