engine mounts on a stepdown

Do the engine mounts bolt on with the free lip forward or rearward? Thanks.

    As I recall, the mounting tab is forward on the stepdown sixes, rearward on the slightly longer spasher eights. Mounts on the frame are same place for both.

    Just as confirmation... went and looked at my Wasp and Hornet engines... tabs are forward... for a Stepdown.
