For some reason over the last week or so, I have not been able to log in using my user name and password. When I put those in I get this error message

Fatal error: Registry object is not an object in [path]/includes/class_dm.php on line 177

I have to put it in, then check the remember me box, then log in, I get the same error message but then when I hit the "back" arrow I am logged in

I'm curious, is this on Internet Explorer and using Windows?

I just tried it using Internet Explorer and got a different error message -

The website cannot display the page

But when I signed in and checked the "remember me" box, signed in- got the above error message, then clicked the "back" arrow- I am now signed in!

    Wonder what is going on?

Bizarre! For what it's worth I'm also using Foxfire and Windows (XP) and don't have the problem. I would assume that, if this is a common problem, someone else will step in here to let us know they're having it as well. Otherwise, it may be some sort of setting on your own computer.

I'm using IE ver. 8 - with Windows (XP) and have to enter user name everytime, though it remembers my password... worked fine before the changes.

It happened to me today. I went to File/Exit then clicked start and entered IE thru the back door. But that does not always work. Sometimes I get fed up and reboot. Then it seems to work again.

  • FYI - We have not made any changes to the forums on CC in sometime, not since May. It may be that IE 8 users have some problems.

Considering we are making a change to the forums in September, there are no plans to debug IE 8 problems with the current Forum.

We know IE 6 & 7 work fine, FireFox, Chrome, and Safari work fine at this time as well.

Sorry to those using IE 8, we have not even looked to see what IE 8 looks like, let alone discover the latest flaws introduced by MS.

We are ditching the flaky JFusion login process in the new forum, that should make everyone happy. Stay tuned for the change!

    Regards & Thank you!

K, if you're using Explorer 8, maybe you can find an earlier version to download somewhere, and install that with its own icon on your computer screen. Then you could use that to go to the Forum and see if you still have the problem. I have two browser icons on my screen, I.E. and Firefox (though I use Firefox 99% of the time). This will allow a comparison.
  • I'm using IE-8 and I don't have a problem other than a week or so ago I was having the log in problem that several others had. I have not had any further problems since then. I did enter the site to my favorites list, and I always come to the forums thru the favorites drop down. I also have firefox, and Bing.

K, do you come to the Forum form your "favorites" or "bookmark" drop-down as Bob does?

    "Bookmarks" drop down.

at the top of firefox browser is the list ---

file edit view history Bookmarks tools help

I put any address I want to refer back to in the Bookmarks section. Some browsers have this as "Favorites". Click on that (Bookmarks) and you get a drop down list of items you have put in that section, make your choice and click on, the page will pop up.

Thanks. I didn't know what Bookmarks were. I have Favorites. Nice to know they are the same thing. Learned something new today. Lee
