Value of a 1947 Commodore 6

With great regret I think I may have to sell my 47 Hudson. I know what I paid for it but now I need to know what I can get for it. It's 100% original but weathered. It runs and drives perfect. I hate to put it on e-bay because I hate to see a street rodder get it. It's a 4 door sedan. Anybody have a ballpark value? It has surface rust but it is straight. It has a new clutch.

"Weathered" refers to the surface rust, worn paint, a dent or two, rips in the upholstery and headliner? Does it have overdrive? Any other stuff on it that's been replaced or rebuilt in the last few years? Posting a couple photos might help. You also might want to say what body style, that matters to some people.

There was one a few blocks from me that had a little less patina as yours that sold for $3000 a couple months ago. This is in Burbank, Ca. Considering the cost of paint, chrome, and upholstery cost around hear that price was a little high. The value is determined by what someone is willing to pay and what someone is willing to sell it for. Negotiation! Get some white shoe polish and put a price higher than what you want on the windshield then negotiate the best deal possible. It may be less than you hoped for or more than your bottom line.

Or you can keep it and enjoy the attention you will get driving around in a neat old Hudson.

    Have a good day. Lee
