Hi. Does any of you have a windshield-frame in fair condition?

Its for my 35 Terraplane 4d super sedan deluxe.

The one I have is rusted beyond repair.

    I had the same problem.

Rather than use another one that was probably rusted, I had one made in brass using the old rusted frame for a pattern. I then had it chromed. It looks just as good and I don't have to worry about it rusting.

I didn't tell my wife what it cost, though !:)
  • How did you go about making the channel for the rubber seal?

    Also brass, or U-shaped steel?

Have considered making the outer frame out of stainless and

    then polish it to perfection......!

However, find it alot easier to repair rusted part.

Unfortunatly, mine is so rusted that I barely have the profil

    of it.

In England you can buy brass windshield channel for making windshield frames - try Paul Beck or Complete Automobilist (get back to me if you have no luck). It's quite a tricky job but it works. I'll send you some photos of mine over the weekend.

There are also companies here that will make the frame for you using this channel, if your frame is sufficiently intact to be used as a pattern.
  • Found the Complete Automobilist website very usefull.

Looking forward to see your pictures of the windshield frame.

    Thanks.
