About 3AM this morning from what I've been told. The last three days had been pretty rough in the hospital and he slipped away early this morning. Service times are trying to be obtained . . .

Mr. Harmon had such a strong character (he always wanted me to call him Jim although I was much his junior). It was my honor to have met him. He always was very helpful to me and I will miss him. What a great legacy he passes on to us.

Sorry to hear of Jims passing. I saw him last in Pontiac at the National. I first met him in Baltimore in 1980. All of our legends are leaving us. I hope there is a Hudson Heaven.

Jim was one of the first people I met when I joined the Northwest Chapter in 1999. He was an incredible mentor when I got my first Hudson, and had an answer to every question I had. I always called him "My Hero" because of what he would do to help me or anyone else. I will forever remember him as a kind and gentle man with an incredible love of Hudsons. I am truly saddened by his passing. Since seeing him last year in Pontiac I have had my SAVE A HUDSON hat that he gave me years ago riding on the center arm rest in the back seat of my 54, and there it will stay.



I willl forever miss him.

Received a call from Fred Connors this morning, he and several others went to see Jim yesterday, he was not cognizant of those that were there to see him. Fred said that the family was only going to have a small service,{private?} . Another thing is that Jim's son in law would like to keep the business going, parts , restorations etc; But in order to do that everything needs to be organized and inventoried. For those of you that attended the Spokane National, Jim was there with parts to sell, and I was able to visit with him a little. He did leave early as his health was failing at that time. The way I see it Jim, Bill Albright, Janet Kale are riding around Heaven in a Hudson Convertable..... ENJOY THE RIDE !!!!! Lou Cote If there are any changes I will them here.

I met Jim several years ago when I bought my first Hudson. Me being a newbie, he was a great help to me and patiently answered my endless questions. He lived about a 100 miles from me so I went there often for parts. His place had shelf upon shelf of hudson parts. I would ask him for some little obscure part and he would always know exactly where it was. A great Hudson guy and a really nice person.

Thanx for posting this for me Russell, the only correction is that He did spend the last of his days at home in Banks and it was from there that he left us.



He was as a father to me, I spent many years with him restoring Hudsons at his home in Banks.



The first day I drove to his home and met him I still remember the massive bright rainbow that stretched across the valley leading to his home. It was the most beautiful rainbow I had ever seen, I could see both ends of it touching the ground and I knew God was doing something special for me that day.



The Pot of Gold was in Jim's heart, I'm so glad he is with the Lord we both know and love but my wife and I are going to miss him so badly, it's just now beginning to hit me and.......wow......is this hard.



I love you Jim, I'm so glad we were able to tell you so before you left for your true home.

Thanks Rick for introducing me to Jim. I bought a number of Hudson parts from him. He would take the time to talk Hudsons with me. He knew that he had a fight with cancer and he fought it well. He really loved his wife and family. I wish I could have met Jim in person. I salute you Jim. God Bless.

More sad news. Both Jim Harmon and Ken Ammon were perfect gentlemen, and a great source to keep our Hudsons running at fair prices. Sad week indeed. God bless them both.

I first met Jim (with Dick Riggs) at the '87 national. They were there to bring the HET meet to Portland ('89). What a wonderful gentlemen Jim was to me and my wife. The Hudson world has indeed lost another gem. Ride on Jim...

I never met Jim and only new him by reputation, but he had a great reputation. I knew Ken and did business with him several times. Both will be greatly missed.

Real sad news. I bought my car from Jim in 2005 my first Hudson. I dont saw the car before i bought it I live in Sweden and I talked whit Jim over the phone and make the deal. Jim puts a lot of spare parts whit the car and I was not dissipointet when the car arravied Jim was honest man.



Over the years whit my restoration of the car we becom good freinds he helps me whit advice and sent parts that i missed. We often spoke about his cancer sometime he feels good and sometime he had a hard time whit it. We often talked to meets in person not just over the phone.



Jim often talked to come and visit me in Sweden and I told him that i should try to meet him next time I visit USA. I realy gone miss him he was a nice good freind God bless you.

In thinking of Jim, it makes you ask yourself, "What kind of legacy will I leave behind?"

I brought my girlfriend to Spokane for her very first Hudson meet and introduced her to Jim when we met him in Portland for the drive up. She gets a little uncomfortable around new people due to English being her 2nd language, and sometimes she gets a little panicky. I was a little worried about spending 2 days walking around the parking lot looking at the same cars over and over, and digging through the swap meet. But, everytime I turned around, it seemed she was sitting with Jim chatting it up like they'd been friends for years!

And that's the thing about the legacy Jim has left behind, it wasn't about the cars, and it wasn't about the knowledge he passed on to those lucky enough to listen (especially me!). No, Jim's legacy is in the friendships he made along the way and how he did it. It didn't seem to matter if you saw him once a week, once a year, or once every 5 years, he always made time to see how you were doing and was entirely sincere about it.



You will be missed Jim. You were one of the good guys.

"The Oregonian" newspaper states the service celebrating Jim's life will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept 2, 2010 in Forest Grove Assembly of God.

I sure wish I could go Dick, but as Stacy said, Jim would be happier knowing we're gaining custody of one of Jim's biggest fans, my step-son.
