Good news all around
As detailed in my blog - http://52hornet.blogspot.com
Problems Fixed:
* Leaking fuel pump fixed, thank you Williamsfield Motors!
* Engine knock taken care of by retarding the engine timing. Sadly I do not seem to have the standard reference point, but I have it pretty close and no matter how hard I push it, no knock.
* Distributor working great after help from Tom from www.valleymotorsofwinona.com
* Head gasket tested and passed
* Radiator overflow and collapsed hose issues taken care of by a new 7lb radiator cap
The family is just enjoying cruising around town and making up excuses to drive the Hornet. I found that we can fit my family (wife & two kids in car seats) and grandparents together in the car. That is how we went to the farmers market last weekend

That's great, Michael. Glad you got it all worked out. How's the interior coming along?0

I have a weaver who tells me that she should be able to reweave the stripe fabric this fall. If that comes through, it will be a new interior by spring. In the mean time, I put the old interior in and slapped in a carpet kit.0 -

It is amazing how much room are in the stepdown sedans.... try doing that in a modern day sedan!0 -
That distributor appears to have the same Id as the dual point one for sale a while back. Don't know what differance that makes with the pertronix. I followed your blog and thought how could the pertronix be replaced without removing the distributor, so I took my spare apart and looked the plate over and decided that if you drilled rivets out without removing the distributor, the bottom of the rivits and washers would have to be removed somehow. Shortly after I had to replace my gaskets from my distributor and was very simple and I marked the timeing so had no problem. Did you have to replace the pertronix?0

Great to hear Michael. You're coming along nicely, and it can only get better. I'm glad your happy with your Hudson - and I'm glad to have had a small part, all-be-it mostly standing around watching Russell get it ready for you to take home.

The scared pertronix is still working. I think you are right about the washer. I believe it knocked around the distributor for awhile before falling to the bottom. Once I pulled it and Tom walked me thought it, it seemed obvious. I still have a lot to learn, but at least I am still learning.0
