1956 Hornet Thermostatic Heater Switch

I am in the process of trying to rebuild my thermostatic heater switch on my 56 Hornet Special Eight. One of the members provided me with a Napa replacement seal which I purchased. Would anyone have any detailed pictures of how to replace the seal? My old one was in pieces and I am not positive how to replace it. Any help would be appreciated.
