Come and have a leasurely good time. Lots of good looking Hudsons to see. Hidden treasure in swap meet area. Best of all good friends to see again and meet new friends.

Don't forget to bring warm clothes. Temperature forcast:
Fri. 62/53 partly cloudy AM/Sunshine
Sat. 61/54 partly cloudy AM/Sunshine
Sun. 60/53 partly cloudy AM/Sunshine
See you there. Lee

Sorry you can't make it this year Vic. You will be missed.
I forgot to mention about the Hudson Caravan to San Simeon starting from Calabasas Friday morning, organized by the Southern California Chapter.
If you would like to participate in the caravan, the information is at: http://soicalhet.org/all_cal_caravan/caravan.htm
Have a good day. Lee0 -
I was planning to be there but my wife went back to work. I guess I will put it on the top of my list for next year. My driving buddy called today and told me what a wonderful time he was having.... Now that is a true friend. He was sitting on his deck looking out to the ocean...0
-
To bad. I was looking forward to seeing you there. Hope our paths will cross at Laughlin.
Does this mean you are in charge of the 2do list now? He He
Take care. Lee0 -
Lee,
My 2-do list starts right after I finish the house work (clean up the kitchen, make the bed, vaccum and stuff) Top of the list is the 36 English Hudson (checking to see if any work is being done on the interior). Next, finish the prep for paint on the 50 Sedan (should do the paint this weekend or early next week (pictures to follow), and visiting the frame work for the 39 "Martz" roadster (it will never be ready for Oklahoma City. Today, Laughlin is a 50/50--perhaps if the 50 is ready I'll be there... Sorry I am not out there this weekend, however, I am still buying parts from the swap meet (good to have friends to spend my money?)0 -
I wasn't able to attend the meet and just wondering if anyone took pictures.
I was being a good grandfather and attending a karate meet.

I'm planning on going to Laughlin again this year & will if wife's health permits.
Had a good time last year - some new cars & faces + had a great dinner Sat. night with old cronies some of whom I'm known for 40+ years.
Won't be held in downtown Laughlin as in the past, but at what I believe is an Indian casino about 1/2 way between Needles & Laughlin. New venue may make it more interesting but probably won't have as many onlookers as we had right on main street of Laughlin.0 -
Sorry, I usually forget to take pictures all together. But I'm getting better and I took a few this time.:)
Notice the side window visors on the grey and black step down. They are chromed steel and look like an old piece, which they are, not something made recently. I've never seen them before, and I really like the look.0 -
That looks like Vic's swimming pool.... he sells alot of window moldings! LOL0

Great pictures! Hearst Castle is a spledid place, always worth the visit. Be sure to watch the IMax presentation also, it is a great intro to the place. Thanks for the pictures!0

OK, here are some of Bill Odle's 1935 Hudson Eight convertible, winner of 2010 Albright Award.0 -
Lee,
Great photo's. I saw Bill's car at the National last summer and I could not spend enough time looking at that car. It is really sweet. Your photo's bring back some fond memories.
I am really happy that the electron folks added this feature for posting extra photo's. I know I will take more photo's when I go to a show. Thanks for sharing....0 -

Great pictures Ottobethere. Thanks for sharing them. That old flate bed was neat. He left before I got a picture of it.
Mark & Nellie LaBouef brought three cars to the meet this year. The blue 38, red woody PU and the red 51 Hornet. The PU is Nellie's.

Could it be the badge on the front license plate, or the wheel not pointing straight ahead, or the painted grill, or the side trim, or the reflexion on the door, or the side mirror on the passenger door, or the chrome head lights?
I give up, I pick the trim, or the chrome headlights, or both, or something else.

Yep, I think that it is the changes made in the top. The idea was to take out the "Bubble" effect. One might say that the top was chopped on the 38 and they would be right. Chopped ever so slightly and then the color changed from deep red to blue-black. Yep, if you are talking about a "keeper" then this has to be high on the list, if not on top?
Just an afterthought, the headlights are painted body color. Either way, though, it would look just as great.....0 -
The '38 coupe is Mike Cherry's car and he drove to the meet and back from Utah, also did some touring on the trip. It is an amazingly well-detailed car, with custom upholstry and much more. I happened to see the car in the shop just as it was being chopped, and they do stunning work.0
