E-mails

OK, how do I stop all the e-mails coming to my home e-mail address? I have over 25 e-mails in two days from Classic Car telling me when someone has made a comment to my post. I thought I made the correct choices in my profile to stop this, but it didn't work. Thanks, Richie.

At the top of the Forum, click the "Profile" button. From there, you can click the tabs named "Posts" "Thank You" "Subscriptions" and "Favorites". In the "Subscriptions" tab you can remove the threads you are subscribed to. Whenever you post to a thread, you're automatically subscribed to it if you don't uncheck the subscription box below the text/message field where you enter your text. I think you can change the default somewhere in the settings, but I would have to look.

I have the same problem. My problem started when exploring the new formate I clicked on subscribe to see what that was about. Now I know what happens. But I do not know what post was on, when I clicked subscribe. How do I stop the post to my email.

For each email, do I have to search for that post to unsubcribe? If that is the way how do you go about it? It doesn't seem like that would stop any other post being sent to my email.

Any help is appreciated. At least is isn't a bad thing that happened. Just another tool to learn how to use properly. Unfortunately, I do not see any instructions on what results happen when clicking onto something. Learning the hard way what's what.

    Hi Richie,
It is not clear whether you want to get these emails from another location, or stop them altogether.

To stop them, you might try going into your 'MyGarage', and editing your 'Privacy' settings. That is the only place I can see to make those type of adjustments.[/quote]

Thanks 46hudson PU, I moved one more dot to the no side, I'll see what happens. Thanks, Richie

Thanks GrimGreaser, all my subscription boxes were not checked in the posts that showed up. I'll keep working on, thanks. Richie.

The email you receive will tell you which thread you have "subscribed". Find that thread. The 2nd section below your avatar will have 4 blocks. "Reply Topic" "Unsubscribe" "Favorite" "New Topic" Click the "Unsubscribe" box and it will change to "Subscribe". That will stop the emails. Don't ask me how how I know this.

Whenever you post a replay ensure that you remove the check mark from the box next to "Subscribe" two boxes below where you typed your message.

I'll give that a try. Thanks for the tip Kevin.

I have already deleted this mornings emails so the next batch will get the treatment.

    Kevin, Your suggestion worked.

Anyone having the same problem with posts showing up on your email, just follow Kevin's instructions to remove them. It works.

I started searching all the threads for the past few days and found many others that were also subscribed and clicked on unsubscribe to changed them.

Thanks for your help. Lee O'Dell
