Missing splines
The chrome "knuckle" on top of my steering column (53 Hornet Coupe Hydramatic) has no more splines left, so it slips on the shaft and won't shift gears. It's the piece that also holds the white transmission gear pointer. Does someone have a replacement with splines or know of somebody who can re-spline? Thanks for your help!

Get your knuckle and shaft lined up like it should be.Then drill a hole through the nuckel, shaft and out the other side of the nuckle.then drive a pin through both.Split pins work well for this.0

Hey, Chipmaker. Drilling is the solution I was hoping I would not have to resort to. But, if there is no other option, at least it looks like this will work for sure. Thanks.

I have a few but not sure if there are any that would'nt need re-chrome.
Is the knuckle the part that is worn or the shaft or bolth?
