looking at a 36T cam next to a 37T cam,there appear to be very slight differences in the profile of the lobes.Am i imagining this?if not,what would this translate to if i put the 36 cam into the 37 block?

If its used I wonder if it could be worn down? Are the casting #'s the same?

There are no differences. What you are most likely seeing is wear on the lobes.
