The image you show is a scanned image of both the photo and the scanned area. You would need to crop just the photo image and then upload it. We have done this for you and the result is what you see now.0

Welcome ClassicCar.com Members:
Today, we are going to demonstrate how to set your Avatar and Public Profiles. There are 2 areas to establish your profile.
For those new to the web, an Avatar is simply a personal image icon that notes your presents in all your online endeavors. Your profile is information about yourself that you share with others.
The first area, where your main profile is located, is the Motorhood, our neighborhood for Motorheads. Once you have established yourself in the Motorhood, you will be linked to several other features on the site.
Your Motorhood profile is where your Avatar or personal icon is set. Once you have logged in, navigate to the MyGarage tab, the pull-down menu will open and select Change Profile Picture.
An upload page will appear. From this location you can browse in your Avatar image from your computer. For best image quality, you can size your image to 160px wide ahead of time in Photoshop, Windows Paint, or other image editor.
If you cannot edit your image, no need to worry, the system will resize your image automatically to fit the Avatar space.
The second area for profile setup is in the ClassicCar.com Forum. The forum offers another area to define your presents within that feature. While the effort may appear redundant, it’s beneficial to not carry over all the details listed in your Garage.
To access and change this information, navigate to the Forum, login and click on the Profile tab. Once you enter the Profile area, note the EDIT link in the top right header bar. Click this link to edit your profile.
You will find 3 tabs labeled, User Account, Profile Information, and Forum Settings.
The User Account section is linked to your site profile and is shared will all application on the ClassicCar.com website. If you chose to change your password or email address, you can do it here and the change will be site wide.
The Profile Information section is used to set your present on the forum and is not shared with other features. This section allows members to set there personal test seen under Avatar image on all your posts. You can set your birthday, gender, website, and other online community access presents. These features appear under your avatar on each post. It’s just another way to connect you to all your other online tools.
The Forum Setting section allows you set how posts are seen when you login. The default is first post first. Some people prefer to se the latest post first to save time looking through the threads. You can all set your subscriptions, which will send you and email if someone responds to your post.
Remember to click the save button at the bottom of each section to save your changes.
We hope this helps your members create a truly unique online experience and a way to share your ideas with others.0 -
Thank you for the instructions Ted.

One thing I've found, so far, is that once you stop trying to make a bucket out of a fruit jar this new set up is far, far easier to navigate - at least to me.
One good example is the Private Messages. I used to have the devil of a time getting to my PM's, and then was never sure if they were sent or not. With this new forum simply click on New Messages (if the little icon is blinking) and it takes me right to the messages. Easy to navigate, easy to reply.
Same with posting pictures. Once you figure out that you go to the bottom of the page, click on Add File and it's easy to do from there. Lot easier than the old format.
It's just like any new thing. I'm sure we've all had our trials trying to figure out the 999 different features our TV remote has for our convenience (HA), but once we figured it out now we use it every day without giving it a thought.
Anyway, I like the new format and thank Ted and the gang at the iron works for the upgrade.
Hudsonly,

I'm getting use to the format. I don't like that I have to log-in two or three times every time I get on here. Or that sometimes I can't log in at all, but whatever. I do hope that things don't change too much more, or too often. In my opinion it's not that it's an easier or harder format to learn. It's the fact that it's a new format to learn. I think most of us are on here to learn from each other and talk about Hudsons. Not learn how to do computer stuff.0

I never log off, and never have to log on. I didn't even have to log on when they changed the board, just clicked in as usual, and it brought me to the new board.
I do have the board as one of the "tabs" on my tool bar (tabs can be set up for 3 of your most used sites, so you don't have to go to favorites to click them).0
