1949 Hudson Commodore Convertible at Auction
Hello,
Not sure if this has been posted before, but I thought I would give a heads-up on a 1949 Hudson Commodore Convertible coming up for auction this Saturday, November 13, 2010.
It is one of the vehicles from the collection of Bud Ekins that is being auctioned. Bud Ekins was the stunt rider/driver for Steve McQueen in several movies (The Great Escape and Bullitt come to mind).

Take care,
Steve Bryson

Looks like a good restoration candidate. I wonder what the frame looks like? If this economy wasn't taking it's toll, I'd be bidding on this one, for sure. Heck, I'd like to just have the back seat for my car!
Estimated at 12,000-16,000. I'd be willing to bet it will go closer to 10K.0 -
Plus 17% in the fine print attachments. Good luck, Bob P0

In this economy? I'll bet you a breakfast!0 -
I bet it goes for atleast $16,000. Most people buying these cars arent working pay check to pay check... Also there are not to many of these in this condition around anymore. Last one I can remeber was the one Dave Sollon bought on ebay a few years back that had a buy it now for 10K ( which it didn't last log)0

It was my son, Nick who bought 48 cv for 10,000. Here is what he bought,

Sold for $10,530 inclusive of Buyer's Premium0

Somebody got a good buy at 10K including commissions. My bet would be that the car is rust free. Having had several Hudsons from this area in the past, all were rust free.0

As I thought. I would've paid more for it myself, but times are tough all over and the collector market is down considerably.
Perhaps we'll have the new owner show up on the forum.0 -
Yup, I think that was a good price. Where ya going to find another?0
-
I thought this one would go over $20,000, so in my book its a great buy. Spend another $30,000 to get an $80,000 car, or spend another 10 to get a $25,000 car...?0

I hope someone spends the 30 to get an 80K car. This one is certainly worth it. One would not find a better restoration candidate, as this is a low-mileage, all original, and most importantly, all-there automobile.
40K investment and you can double your money: how often does that happen in our hobby?0
