Hydra-Matic shifters for dual range hydro
Guys I have 5 Shifters for GM dual range Hydramatic from 1952 through the 60's for sale. Some of you may have seen my post about this a few weeks ago. This is a New design with twin gates, one for street and one for racing. Will work on stock or modified Hydramatics.
These will work on Single Range Hydramatics with dual range valve body installed. (single range hydros do not have a selectable 3rd gear position like the dual range hydros have.)
Mounts to the back tail shaft housing. Its a Retro late 60's design made like the shifters back in the day.
These shifters are the prototypes and have been used and will be sold as used shifter. I personally disassembled each one, modified as needed, replaced any parts showing wear and reassembled them. They do show little imperfections but these are prototypes. The aluminum cover is lightly polished. Scratches and manufacturing defects are present but still very presentable. Please understand that each of these were installed into vehicles, hand modified in the field and used for about 60 days. They are ready to use as they are.
The key features are:
This shifter has been designed to offer a "Street Gate" on the left side for normal around town driving and a "Race Gate" on the right side for racing or enthusiast shifting.
The Street Gate has saw tooth detents for each position and a straight line gate. This straight line gate allows the operator to pick any gear fast and easy. The design allows the driver to pull the shifter out of one detent position and move into any other position without having to stair step through each position.
The Race Gate has a stair stepped detented gate. This stair stepped gate is designed to help prevent over shooting any gear during racing. Shifting down a gear is also enhanced due to the stair stepped gate design.
The shifter has been designed with a first gear position to operate with Hydro Sticks. (On the stock shift pattern Hydramatics this first gear position is not used.) The reverse lockout plunger must be pulled up to unlock first gear and reverse both for added safety. Two labels for the gate positions come with each shifter. One is labeled as "N, D, S, L & R" for stock shift pattern Hydramatics and one labeled as "N, 4, 3, 2, 1 & R" for hydro-stick shift pattern Hydramatics.
Material used is allow .125" thick steel with a .060" thick aluminum cover. Grade 8 hardware is used for the mounting bracket & brace. Sealed rod ends with a 3/8" diameter linkage rod are used for the direct linkage.
A Neutral Safety switch has been mounted to the shifter base and ready to wire in with provided terminals.
Both an Installation manual and an Operators manual are provided with full color photos. The last two pictures show one installed in my mid 60's drag racer so you can get a feel for the size and placement in a vehicle.
Shipping will depend on location so email me with your address for accurate shipping cost.
Cost is $245.oo each. Message me with any offer you wish to make as I am out of work and need to sell these to keep my house and more important my project cars.
thank you,

Is the linkage long enough to mount in front of a bench seat, via stock Hudson?0

I attached a picture of it mounted to my H53 Hydromatic so you can see where its located at. The back of the aluminum cover is the the center of the transmission yoke. I moved the seat back in my 50 PaceMaker so I am not sure exactly where it would be located at in a stock vehicle.
thanks,
