202 question

This thought was brought on by the babbitt bearing research I have been doing. If the 202 was basically an improved earlier 212, can one machine the 212 crank and rods to take the 202 insert type bearings?

    The 202 was built using the tooling from the straight eight engine and lengthening the stroke by 1/4" end result is 3" bore & 4 3/4" stroke for 202CID. Splasher six was 3X5 and the eight was 3X41/2
