Anybody seen this one - got this email this morning:

Date: Sun, 20 Nov 2005 05:32:00 -0800

From: "Joseph Keating" <bobbyboy0@inbox.com>

Subject: RE: Question for item - Other Makes

To: hester_nec@yahoo.com

Hi ,

Before i can add you on my pre-approve list, i wanna let you know the terms of this transaction.

The car will be shipped from Ullapool ,Scotland & i will cover shipping fees. Since the car is shipped on a military cargo all you have to pay for this car is the BUY IT NOW price ($5.500) . Will be shipped over sea to NY, from there DHL will pick it up and you will receive it within 14 days tops.DHL will deliver the car at your door.

The car is in perfect working condition , no damage,no scratches or dents,no hidden defects, and it is as advertised. You can see more pictures of the car here: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jkeatinngg/album?.dir=1835 ,will be shipped with CLEAR US TITLE.

I work as a sergeant in the US army and i was deployted to work here in Ullapool for a while. I've brought the car here with me 1 week ago so i can drive it during my free time but i found out that i have to pay a large amount of money to register the car here, because it was purchased and registred in US and Europe emission regulations are different from US ones.

I only go home once in 8 months, it's a shame to keep a car like this garraged for such a long time .

If you are interested, get back to me and i'll let you know the terms of this deal.

Thank you ,

Sgt. Joseph Keating

US Army

Man that Hudson lead sled is really getting around!!!!!!! I suspect this email is in response to the one I sent to the bogus seller in Massachusetts telling the seller I'd like to come look at the car. It suddenly "moved" from Massachusetts to Scotland. LOL

Passing this on in case anybody else gets something similar. And, by the way, there is a Ullapool, Scotland - in the far northwest corner.

Hudsonly,

Alex B

You think the SOB would figure out not to try this on a Hudson!

There are too many of us on the forum keeping an eye on Hudsdons on ebay that this scam would never reach fruition.

  • Wow! I wish the military could've shipped my car back home on a C-130 or a C-17!!! And for free, too! And DHL will deliver it to my door for free, to boot! Wow, what a deal! The closest air transportation is in Inverness, over an hour's drive. Amazing.

That's the exact same story that was used with the 52 Hudson that showed up on ebay a few weeks ago.

Corvette bumpers ends make up the pieces that wrap the fenders.

BTW - I reported the SOB to YAHOO so hopefully they can do something about the pictures and the account being used.

Here is the response I got from Yahoo after telling them this jkeatinngg SOB is on his second round using YAHOO photos to post pictures to perpetuate his ebay scams...
