Some HET Club Goodwill Help Wanted.
Hi All,
Carmen LaFlamme, our HET Club Secretary has sent the following email out to the Registry Managers in an attempt to help this fellow Hudson owner out, amd maybe help to recruit him into the club in the process.
Ron Haynick from Clermont, Florida is looking for a grill for his '52 or pieces of one. A truck backed into him and smashed his grill.
I met him on Friday at the Daytona Turkey Run. He has had the Hudson for 31 years but is not a member. Maybe if you can help him you can encourage him to join the Club. I have him ALMOST convinced. I gave him a WTN so he has all the information he needs.
His number is: 321-402-3956

Thought I would post this here to give it a larger audience, and maybe help to increase our membership rolls by one!
I'm sure one of our Forum Members can help this fellow get the parts he needs to get his Hudson back on the road, which is the kind of gesture that helped build this fine club since the beginning. How about it??!!

I'm about 20 minutes from Clermont and hear tell of a couple stepdown sedans
at a junkyard near me. It I get a break Monday,I'll give him a ring and see if
he wants to go check em out...0 -
I have some grille parts he can have. They will need replated. I will be in Winter Garden on the 18th. Very close to Claremont. I will call him today.0

Appears to be a cell number since 321 is an east coast area code and Clermont is probably a 407..dunno... iI called and left a voice mail for him..It would be nice if he joined us at our Christmas get together at the Davis' home on the 18th in Winter Garden..
UPDATE,
Talked to Ron last night. he has a modified Hudson (BBC). He says he will be at our Christmas party in Clermont on the 18th. Cost of the parts I give him? A filled out membership aplication! LOL..0 -

Another Update,
Ron attended our business meeting and Christmas gift swap and desert shareing Saturday. I gave him the parts and an application. The ball is in his court now.
His 52 Hornet was the one in the "Porky's" Movie. It isn't pink any more and he filled in all the buckshot holes..0 -
I think I met Ron about 20 years ago when I lived in Ft. Lauderdale. I was working on one of my cars in the driveway and he stopped by to say hi. My memory is a little fuzzy, but it seems like he was driving an ambulance at the time? Never saw him again. Of course, I could be confusing him with another paramedic Hudson owner in Florida :unsure:0

It's probably the same guy. He did live in South Florida up until recently.I didn't ask him what his occupation was. His car looks like a 51 since he took all the stainless off around the windows. It also has a 53 hood ornament.Somehow I get the feeling he won't join the club.. Hope I am wrong..We did all we can do..
I would like to See the movie "Porkey's" again. Been a long time ..There also was a Disney Movie that had a Hudson in it. I can't recall the name of it "(Something or other) Gang" Anyone remember it?0
