Dave, If it's who I think it is, then he's unrealistic in what he wants to pay. He's been looking for several years. He has had several opportunities to buy decent blocks ,but he won't pull the trigger. Why? I don't know. I have failed to sell him one and I know of a couple of others he tried to deal with . They had no luck either. With all due respect don't waste your time . Believe me it's not that he dosen't have the money, he's just not realistic .0

I have not actually met the guy so I do not know much about him. Rick Clark told me to give him a call regarding some other parts I am looking for and he mentioned he was looking for a 308 block. Since he is not a HET member I told him I would post a thread. Other than that I made no commitment to help him find what he is looking for. Thanks for your heads-up.0

Amazing and great to hear that he doesn't want to put the typical "small block Chevy" V-8 in his eventual '39 Hudson "rod"!0

I have a 212 in my commodore sedan and crave a little more HP. I'm pretty sure I can find a block however if someone else my have a connection I would be interested. How much does the stock 308 put out? Do you guys have a rough idea how much it would cost to build one? I thought if all else fails I'll keep what I have and take it slow.:whistle:0

A dead stock 51 308 with a single 2 bbl carb was rated 145 hp. The last ones in 56 were 165 or 170 hp with the Twin-H setup on them. These are factory stock engines.0

Shame he isn't in the HET. I have an ad for 262 and 308 long blocks in the last issue and certainly can deliver to Concord.0

254 eight would be an easy swap, you'd get 30% more power.0
