Setting valves....
I am looking for some more tips and experience on setting the valves on my 36 212 splasher. I do have your tips Walt and will do them cold at 8 and 10 thousanths. My question is: is it possible to set more than one set of valves at a time or do I have to do each cylinder at TDC?
Thanks,
Jeff

1-5-3-6-2-4 is the firing order, and you must set the valves as such. When valve cover is off, start by turning engine till #1 intake valve opens then starts to close, look at #6 valves and when you see the exhaust valve start to open, you are #1 top dead center, adjust. Valve order, Ex-in-ex-in-in ex-from the front and it's the same from the rear. # 5 you watch #2, #3 you watch #4, #6 you watch #1, #2 you watch #5, #4 you watch #3. you are looking at the ex valve on the opposite number. Take your time and you will do a good job. Use new feelers gauges as using ones that have been used while motor is running are pounded out of shape. Walt.0
