Radiator?
Im in need of a radiator for my 262 1949 stepdown.
-Is there a difference in radiators from 48-53? Are any of these interchangeable?
-If i cannot find an original has anyone purchased an aftermarket radiator? if so can they post the link or the info needed to contact them.
-Do i want 2core or 3core?
thanks for all the help.
**or is getting an 80 van radiator the way to go?

Use as big a radiator that will fit, it's cheaper in the long run. a 2row core will probably make your engine run hot. Dodge P.U. or van radiators fit right in and are probably a lot easier to find, 80s models I think. I know when we've put a Hornet engine in a 47 or earlier car, they run hot unless we use an 8cyl radiator believe they're a 3 row core. Good luck.0

If you PM Richie, he can forward you a really nice writeup he did when he installed a 70's Dodge radiator and 6 blade fan into his pacemaker. really good info.0

There was a topic on this a few months back and I shared what I'd done. I had Detroit Raditor cut a 4 row high effiency core to specs of my existing core. I shared the diemensios on that post. While the Dodge van is one alternative that has served thoses that have used them very well, the high effiency core should give good results as well with no modifications and retain original appearance. I think I paid 275.00 with shipping for the core. I hope to have my car on the road by June one.
Thanks for letting me share,
