On TV today there was a Hudson in the beginning of the 1950 movie A Life of Her Own, with Lana Turner.

In the back ground, as Lana Turner exits a taxi cab, is a 46 or 47 Hudson parked at the curb.

One of the reasons I like watching Turner Classic is to see the cars they use in these films. Sometimes you get a great movie and spot a bunch. And sometimes it brings back a lot of memories.

There's a website that you look at that shows the cars in different movies from all eras. Here's the site http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?make=Hudson&model=

My boy got Mater's Tall Tales (all the Mater shorts from Pixar, plus 2 new ones) for Christmas. One of the new Mater cartoons, Mater Private Eye, is done like a Noir Detective movie. Hilarious, like all the Cars Toons, but I'm pretty sure there's at least one Hudson in the crowd at the Carba Cabana. Don't see the front, but the deck-lid and fender skirts are dead ringers, or at least close enough for me. :)

Oh, and the gangster is a big old Packard.

Just watched A Beautiful Mind with Russell Crow. There's a black step down in a scene where he is taken away. It doesn't show the front or back, so can't tell what model or year. Great movie.
    Gene.
  • I just watched the pilot episode of Quantum Leap again. Sam jumps back to 1950's the waitress at the diner is driving a 46 Hudson coupe. 2 tone paint job.

    Great site, Ron.

I did not see this Lana Turner movie on that site. I liked seeing the Hudsons in the teen's, 20's and 30's movies.

Could it be Hudsons have move curves, to look past Lana Turner?

    Thanks for the site link.

Don't know if my english will be ok on that one but, if I translate what I'm thinking, having a Hudson AND a Packard I would say: " You're blessed on both sides!".
Congratulations! 2 very nice cars! Michel.
