50 Hudson for sale
Hello All,
I have a 50 model, that is for sale. The car once belonged to Al Saffrahn and his son Mike and later Dick Sheridan. I have talked to Al and Mike and have some history on the vehicle.
I have been driving the car around and have completed the regular things to make it drivable, new radiator core, carb rebuild, flush and clean the fuel tank, new fuel pump, brake rehab, battery, and rebuild the water pump. It has a 56 Twin H 308 ci, with a 262 head, three speed w/overdrive and some other performance work by the Saffrahn's. The interior and paint are tired. The guages and wipers work properly.
I would like $9,000 for the car, if you know anyone send them this way. Thanks.
Gary Gould

Here is something to compare against. I am selling my 1950 that is all original except for the paint. Just finished putting almost 6K into the paint on this car and it was rust free and stright before I started. The new color is deep red and white. I have more photo's if you need them... I am asking $15,000 for mine.

Free car + $6000 paint job = $15,000 + now interior work is needed !?!? Now its out of the ballpark for a beginner. Bummer.0

Yes... Free, but then:
6,000.00 Paint and body work (no rust however to deal with)
2,000.00 Tires
4,000.00 chrome
2,000.00 mechanical work and a new passenger side windshield and rubber
That about sums up the free car stuff. I am good on price somewhere between 13 and 15 realizing that all Hudson folks want to make a good deal. By the way, there are three stepdowns on eBay today that are under 5K. One even recently drove cross country. Seems to be some great deals out there....
The up side for my car is that I know there is no one that will pay 15 for it so I have a win-win thing going on here. My wife gets to know that it is for sale and I get to drive it until I die. Can life be any better?0 -
Ahhh.... Brownie, What a sneaky rascal you are! If she's anything like my wife I'll bet she will eventually catch on that rouse.
Peace,

Ah, that makes sense. Id want to keep it too. Those prices look adjusted, helps convince the wife

Brownie- Neighbor was chuckling about doing the same thing with a piece of land his wife wanted him to get rid of- He put "way too high a price" on it- next thing he knew, he had a full price offer, and of course, wifey was all for it, and he had no place to hide. . .0

That explains it, I thought you liked the stepdowns0 -
My problem is that I like Hudsons... All of them... Do you think all the Hudsons in the would would fit in my six car shop? I currently have 6 hobby cars. Two need to be built and the one is a major project (the 39 Martz Custom Roadster)And, I am bidding on one that is on Ebay. No idea where I will put it if I get it; but, that is a different problem. I have built and sold cars my entire life. I would like to keep all that I currently have but then the problem of where to put the next one that I buy? Three of the cars that I have now were free when I got them. I am now learning that free is not always that good of a deal.0

Brownie, if it's that convertible in Colorado I would be happy to save you transportation costs and store it in my garage for you.I even live in Lakewood, so I got that going for me.
