Does anyone know if Geoff is OK after the earth quake in New Zeland? Or any other HET members?
Thought I ask...

Geoff is OK, well away from the earthquake, have not heard about any others HET members.

From an ex HET Club President & his HET Club secretary wife (in Christchurch - earthquake epicentre):

Hi David, As far as we know all HET members are OK - we just haven't been able to contact Andrea and Gilbert, their phone seems to be out - don't know her cell phone number. Only hope they are OK. In area hit by liquefaction again. We saw them Monday night when me met Alistair to have a meal while he was down here. We were lucky again, only lost our chimney, fell outwards, onto Graeme's parts shed. Graeme fixed the roof. Chimney not used, we have heat pump in room. The guy next door thought he should perhaps take down his chimney - it was dismantled today. Things fell off shelves, etc, but we didn't have damage in kitchen and pantry area like some. We went up to our daughter's house in Sefton tonight and had a meal with them and used their shower. Otherwise we have everything we need at present, just went and stocked up with some cat food on the way home. Thanks for your concern, appreciated. Regards, Kay and Graeme

For all who don't happen to know this, Geoff checks in at our Hudson Chatroom two or three times a week and if you happen to be there at the same time, you can "talk" to him in real time. http://classiccar.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=66 His usual time seems to be early to mid-afternoon, depending upon the part of the U.S. in which you happen to live.

    All,
Received an email from Geoff on Tuesday. HE's ok, about 200 miles away, but unable to contact anyone in Christs Church. I'm sure things there are a bit crazy as they would be here.
PLease keep him and the ones in need in our prayers. As we hear more we might be able to donate something toward their recovery.

Haven't heard from anyone else over there as of yet.

Thanks, David. All HET folk are safe as far as we know - have been in contact with most. We saw Mallards [HUDDY 8] today, they had no phone as they had no power, and [Mrs Pres] Andrea rang yesterday. Their house is quite badly damaged, and they have no phone, water, power. But they are safe, that's the main thing. Cheers, Kay
