Hudson Fire Truck

Got a call to go look at a Hudson that has been built into a fire truck. So ran down and took photo's in a dark shop so they are not all that good. I did notice that the front fenders have three levels or crowns in the top. My guess is that it is a 28 or 29. The new owner wants to restore this vehicle as a fire truck. I need some help. I could not find any badges or identification plates and did not want to start scratching around the engine looking for numbers so I thought I would get some advice on where to look and some ideas on what you fine folks can identify so here are some photo's.

The pics are not quite definite enough to make a positive identification, but it appears to be a 1924 to 1926 model. The engine is probably Chrysler, and the radiator is not Hudson, nor the instruments. It has been fairly hacked around. I had a similar vehicle which had been made from a 1929 model, and I decided to re-convert back into it's original 7 passenger sedan mode by using parts from three vehicles.

I'll go along with Geoff, it looks like a Chrysler (product) engine. If it is there will be a machined pad at the top left front of the block that's viewed from the left side. Chrysler Corp engine numbers started with the vehicle model followed by the serial so the number will start with a number like C-22, P-17, S-6, D-24, PT-105 etc.

Very likely Chrysler looking at the e-brake at the rear of the transmission.
