South Texas HET Club March Meeting

edited February 2011 in HUDSON
Our next monthly meeting will be on March 12th, at 11:00 o'clock, at Dick's Classic Garage, 120 Stagecoach Trail San Marcos,Texas(512) 878-2406.

The reason for the earlier meeting time is that the museum is holding its annual CONCOURSE de TEJAS that day and will host the Aububurn, Cord, Duesenberg (ACD) Club. There should be some great cars on display, but the museum manager has encouraged our club to bring our Hudson's, to be added to the display. As usual, our chapter members will be afforded a discount to view the museum display, which is an exceptional one. I

After our meeting and tour of the facility, you have the option of joining the group for lunch nearby. Hope to see you and your Hudson's at this very attractive meeting venue.

ContactVince Parziale, Chapter President for any additional information.

I've been to that museum with Russ Chilton - it is an impressive collection. Hudson owners in the area should make an effort to be represented.

.....and if anyone is interested in seeing the "pre-restoration" of Mr. Parziale's '34 Terraplane Roadster, feel free to PM me for my number and directions. My shop is in New Braunfels, which is approx. 30 or so miles from the Museum.

Also, any HET members are welcome to stop by the shop anytime...provided you call me first to make sure i'm here;)

Hello to the HET folks who made it to San Marcos, and Dick's Classic Garage (I will give Ken a return call soon--I just got the message this week). I'm REALLY sorry that I was not there, and you folks were probably wondering if I was just AWOL.

I would have greatly appreciated the opportunity to meet with you folks and revisit with some of the others that I met in Shiner when the meeting was there. For 31 years over Spring Break I have run a field excursion with students (25 this time) to Big Bend National Park, which is part of a course to learn about (and experience) desert environments. The dates had been fixed since last fall, and we left on the morning of the 11th--so I was out in the Chihuahuan Desert, 500 miles away, on that day.

It would also be nice to have more time to enjoy my car (maybe when I retire). If possible the plan is to make some local car shows in early April.

I really regret not being able to be there with the HET Club that Saturday in San Marcos--it would have been great.

OUCH, what a missed opportunity for me to interact with some friendly folks who are much more knowledgeable than me about Hudsons/etc.

Great post and sorry you did not make the meet too!

You will be pleased to know that the chapter will be using Dick's as our usual meeting place in the future. This of course is on those occasions where we do hot have a member sponsored meet or another event to which we would like to participate. Will post the upcoming meeting information later tonite.

Cheers and hope you had a great time in Big Bend... I will be motoring there later this year... hopefully in my Hudson.
