What Color is Doc Hudson? Pacific Blue?Paint code?

Hi, I'm about ready to have my 51 Hornet painted. Does anyone know the correct color of Doc Hudson? I've assumed he was Pacific Blue, however pictures of Pacific Blue 51's that I've found online (not very many I might add) look significantly darker than Doc Hudson. It could be poor lighting or coloring in the photos, so I'm not giving up hope of confirming this. But my searches online for this information keep coming up empty.

Does anyone have any additional information on this color that might help me? I've even thought of bringing in a Doc Hudson toy car to get the paint matched, but I've found so much variance in Doc Hudson colors amongst the toys that I'm not really keen on going that route.
Thanks,
Brian

Brian - I have an official Hudson Exterior Color folder the factory supplied to all dealers for their parts & body shop departments. Code #59 Pacific Blue I believe is quite dark. They did have another darker blue - #87 Admiral Blue which would be much closer to the blue we see on "Doc Hudson", but I believe even it is a bit darker than the cartoon character. If you will forward your e-mail address, I can scan the Series A Exterior Color sheet for you and return it by e-mail. My e-mail address is: HETHudsonJetman@hotmail.com (drop the HET)

Talk to DaveFury he is a user on this board. He painted his 51 Hornet coupe the Doc Hudson blue and it looked like an exact match to me. Contact him he had the paint mixed for that color.

    Here is his car.

I just compared Dave's car to my model, and its a spot-on match.

I'd really be surprised if the color was an "official" Hudson color- its just too pretty! And of course, movies are famous for taking liberties with most everything. I doubt that they even thought about using an authentic color- its a kids cartoon movie, not a Pebble Beach documentary. . .
