ID Hudson from Photo

This car is suppose to a Hudson. Any ideas on model and year?

I looked at the Australia web site, and checked the pics of different years and the only one that looked similar, was a 28 tourer, there may have been add ons from the dealer, but it was the only one that looked like the photo

It looks to be a 17-23 Hudson Speedster. I believe it is a Speedster (5 pass touring) due to the low door height. The 7 passenger, the top of the backseat was not visible, there was instead a body piece that ran up over the top. It is hard to tell from the size of the picture exactly what year. I would guess 1920 because the wheels dont look as tall as the 26 inch wheels on the '17s. Just my swag. If you had a bigger picture, there might be more subtle differences.

Those balloon tires mark it as a late twenties car, not an earlier one. I had a 1923 and the tires were tall and skinny. My guess for the car would be 1929.

Just a couple of comments. From what I can see of the headlights, they are not can-type, so it has to be 1921 or earlier (I know I included 22 and 23, I now recant that : ). If it doesnt have can-type lights, and it is definitely not a 27, 28 or 29, then I has to be earlier.

Compared the above picture with pictures of Hudsons in the AMC family picture book and it looks like Hudson began using balloon tires in '21.
The fender lines of Hudson seem to match this picture, and the "bell" style headlights fit also. The front opening doors would indicate that the car above could also be a Hudson Speedster. I'm not that well versed on these early models, but if the picture above was just a little more clear it would help

Definitely 1921, going by the headlamps, and the front fender shape.

The shock absorbers on the front end appear to be similar to the ones I've seen on, I think it's Buzz Stahl's 20 limo. Could be wrong about the name, but I'm sure it's a 20 limo.

Look at this photo real close!!! I might be a nut-job, But I can clearly see the front wind shield and frame work from a hudson limo. The visor as well. as you all know ALL Hudson open cars had 2 peice wind shields, Not this one!
Am I nuts or is this a custom body phaeton??? looks like a 1919-21 buy the fender lines, With 33x6.00s on the front, but it almost looks like it has 31x6.00 on the rear?? but didnt come out till 1927ish

My 1923 had drum headlights and it appears the lights on this car are from an earlier time, but my 23 also had 34x41/2 tires on 25 inch rims and the tires on the pictured car are definitely balloons which were first used in 1926 or 1927. Could this be a modified car with later wheels put onto an earlier car?
