Liquid gas will not explode if a spark is introduced in the liquid. It will however explode violently if a spark is introduced to vaporized gas.
Its all about the other ingredient necessary for combustion....air.0 -

Right you are. That's why you have to mix fuel and air before it can combust within the engine. It's all about the flash point.0 -

This is strange, we must be kindred spirits 'cos I just got the twin of your Commodore except mine's a '48 Super 8, I will check and see if it has the gas option you mention. In the mean time, look at how similar the color, deterioration etc., is.

I bought my 49 from some folks in Palm Springs so mine had a
CA plate on it when I bought it (Sadly the ebay pictures showed the original South Dakota plates - that they couldn't find when they broght me the car)
Sometimes I miss my 68 Chevelle - but it was just a customized malibu nothing special like an SS which I would have held onto.
What are the plans for your 48?0 -
