Wow - I can't believe Bill put her up for sale.
I hope he has a high reserve...there wasn't a penny spared on this build!
Bill - if you still hit this forum, are you shopping her around or are you just moving on to other projects?

See below out and in messages crossed between Bill and my self earlier this morning...When I learned there was another Hudson being built in Las Vegas, I called and visited the shop close to Speedway Race Track working on 1953 Hornet, mechanic then gave me Bill's number and I visited him at Arless Ness upmarket bike shop dealership which Bill owns...As the years past I saw this car being restored at different times; no expense was spared, every attention to detail was inputted resulting in one of the best Hornet's in USA.

"Dear billbiler,
Good Morning Bill,
After seeing your car build for last three years, I never thought you would offer such a fine machine professionally built, no expense spared, with your attention to detail? Sorry I missed buying your Wasp two years ago and now because I started and almost have same amount you invested in my Hornet build which is almost complete, regret not having opportunity to bid on your car; especially after seeing, hearing powerful engineered designed engine... Anyone thinking about building a Hudson Hornet should save themself time, money and seriously consider your great car!!! I still haven't started on my '56 Hornet sedan with 308 Twin-H power, (love that engine) if I do I'll be coming to see you for supporting information of your great engine etc., you built...
GOOD LUCK,
Ray

I love the car but will be very surprised if he gets the 50 to 65,000 he is wanting. It's special but not that special. And yes, if I were going to build one exactly like it I understand that one would probably spend close to that amount, but in this economy, I just don't see it.
I've built several cars from the ground up, doing a 70 Jag now, and it is rare to actually get the build cost back out when sold.0 -
At different phases I saw this Hornet being engineered/built and Bill didn't bar any expense; in present state of economy I don't think hobbyist will invest/acquire high cost restoration; however always hoping there is one who will. My personal experience and expecially because I hardly do any work on my cars; I am lucky if I recover sixty percent of money invested, but then again I enjoy hobby and am rewarded after seeing/driving completed restoration.
