Call me sentimental, but two bright red air cleaners sitting over six cylinders would make that engine compartment look a whole lot better.

Beautiful Hornet ... I love the colors, and it appears the modern mechanicals have been done nicely. But a little puzzled at some details ... letters not painted in the Rocket emblems, odd looking upper grille ornament. Oh, and the Chevy emblem in the steering wheel is a really nice touch ... yuk!

Too bad they didn't do their research before ruining this "28K' car. If it was only 28K,the next question was Why? I don't like the way the front wheels protrude beyond the fenders,ruined the side lines of the big slab sides. I believe Stepdown Hudsons,when restored properly, with only few modern additions,hold/retain there value. If the same amount of care and craftmenship was taken to restore this car to original,there would be a bunch of people on it. This example-not so much! Be interesting what it brings Vs. investment.

I agree on those items- but there's a zillion aftermarket steering wheels out there that would fit on that modern column, and I'm sure you could find a "retro" one that would look better. And the shifter would look much better if you cut that leather thing way down low, or just put in an accordian rubber boot. I don't think the floor shift looks out of place, lots of guys put them in "back in the day".

But other than that (and the obvious issues some have with modern drivetrain), that's sure a pretty car! Can't imagine they'd let it go for under 30K, and they're a long ways away, at this point.

Great question, re, does anyone know of it. This is one gorgeous car and anyone who knows me, knows how I feel about variations from original. I cringed just to put an electric pump in line. BUT, with a/c and modern stuff I could dig this. Park, I agree about the steering wheel, also the "knee high" shift boot. I would think that the cars 308 was probably toast and the builder went from there. The Ford rear could have been necessary to get the nice FAT radials in the wheel wells. Small a/c registers in the interior, too. Does it run hot? If someone knows the history, this is one nice street rod for a "price'. That's why the lead question is a good one.

Very pretty car and the modifications seem to be well done..

That being said I think you always reduce the value of a Hudson in particular when you MODERNIZE the drive train.....It makes for a nice driver if you intend to keep the car forever, but as far as resale value you really limit the market..

Good luck on him getting much more that around 10K for that car and I bet that they don't get what they are asking for it and will probably re-list it multiple times in a futile effort to get what they think it's worth and not what the market will bear.

I couldn't agree more. Nice work, but why not keep the Hudson 6?
