Hi All,

The Portland Swap Meet is April 1-3....claimed to be the largest swap meet on the west coast http://www.portlandswapmeet.com/ and I'd have to say they're right from previous experiences. Wonderin' if any of my "Hudson Pals" will be there. I have a few parts from my '49 that I could bring if anyone is interested (free to a good home):

Rear end and leaf springs: Complete, but internal condition un-known
Steering wheel, column, box (manual)....pretty crusty but mostly there.
Spindle (driver's side) and front suspension control arms, springs, cross-member.

PM me if you're interested....must be serious 'cause I don't want to pack this stuff down there for no reason :-)

Also, I would be willing to pay for a front coupe seat (and maybe rear seat), possibly a coupe passenger door, a pair of windshields, and a set of coupe rocker panels (yeah....I know I'm dreamin'). PM me if you have any of this and feel like selling/bringing it to the meet.

Thanks!!!
Lee

    Hi Tom,

I may go- haven't been for a few years- haven't decided yet.

Is there a NW chapter meeting associated with it?

Went every year for 26 years but the trip got too expensive. Used to be the BEST swap meet on this end of the world and hopefully it still is but being on the road for 8 days straight takes too big a chunk out of the pocketbook these days. Good luck to you and let us all know how it was this year!

Certainly not my intent to let my membership lapse- too much to keep track of, I guess. Guess that would explain why I have not been getting the Cork Clutch. Reminds me of the story of the granddaughter who discovered Grandpa deceased, in his chair- she called her dad, all excited, and he opined, "Well, I guess that explains why he didn't eat his soup at Thanksgiving."

Will get my check in pronto, and maybe see y'all at the meeting.

I'm making a weekend of it, but don't plan on going to the actual swap meet. I plan on spending Saturday at OMSI with my girls and then joining the HET crew for dinner afterwards. :) Hope the clouds will part on Sunday so we can enjoy Seaside. Taking my fuel efficient commuter car down there, but plan on driving the Jet to a Pro Car & Emergency Vehicle Show at the XXX Drive-In in Issaquah next weekend on the 10th depending on weather.

    Hi Tom,

I'm not a HET member, but thought about it. Maybe once I get her on the road where I could actively participate in events I might sign up. Anyway, thanks for the info....I'll look for you guys at booths 6001-6005. A buddy and I are planning on staying on the grounds in my camp trailer, but not sure if that's legal :-) We'll probably be at the far end of the course.

    Thanks again,
    Lee

    Hi Sarah,

I'll try to get over to the xxx drive-in....I'd like to see your Jet....looks great, but I bet the pictures don't do it justice from the sounds of your restoration :-)

    Thanks,
    Lee
