Try turning the air adjusment screw in until the idle stumbles,then back it out just enough to get a smooth idle. If you have it turned too far in you will get a stumble on accelleration.0

And where is that located on my Carter WA-1 749S carb? This isn't the screw with the spring on it, is it? It is another screw I should be looking for, correct?0

If you smell rich, there is nothing you can do outside the carb to correct this. You may have the wrong meter Rod, should be 75-704, and set with tol T109-102. Walt0
