Does anyone have a color photograph of a Hudson dealership back in the day?

I have lots of B & W pictures and am looking for some color pictures
inside or outside of a dealership.

thanks

Sarah Young has a listing of Hudson dealerships all over the world. Check this link: home.comcastinet/~sarahyoung/hudsondealerships.html

I only check my town. One B&W and one color. I'll get around to searching other communities later.

Lee, I am thinking that there was not a lot of color film and prints around when Hudson closed their doors. News papers did not start using color until the war in Viet Nam. Blood sold more papers? Gee... even my TV was still black and white. There was not 10 O' clock news in rural Utah in 1956 because the only station we could pick up went off the air at sunset... old man Farnsworth lived just a few miles to the North of us and I am told he was the first in the area to have color TV. I would expect that most of the color photo's you would see would be after the dealerships closed down?

Brownie, you are correct about B&W photos used mostly back then. Just did a California search in Sarah's webb. Only one period color photo 1946 or 47 of Ben Heflinger HUDSON dealership in Santa Anna, Ca.. All other color photos were taken much later.

There may be a few other period color photos from other states and countries on Sarah webb.

If anyone has any personal B&W and color photos of Hudson dealership consider sharing them with Sarah so she can add them to her webb site.

Thank you Sarah for making this information available.

    Have a good day all.

I know this is waaay off topic, but this thread reminded me of a Calvin and Hobbes comic strip where this conversation went on:

Calvin: Dad, how come old photographs are always black and white? Didn't they have color film back then?

Dad: Sure they did. In fact, those old photographs are in color. It's just the world was black and white then.

    Calvin: Really?

Dad: Yep. The world didn't turn color until sometime in the 1930s, and it was pretty grainy color for a while, too.

    Calvin: That's really weird.

Dad: Well, truth is stranger than fiction.

Calvin: But then why are old paintings in color?! If their world was black and white, wouldn't artists have painted it that way?

Dad: Not necessarily. A lot of great artists were insane.

Calvin: But... but how could they have painted in color anyway? Wouldn't their paints have been shades of gray back then?

Dad: Of course, but they turned colors like everything else did in the '30s.

Calvin: So why didn't old black and white photos turn color too?

Dad: Because they were color pictures of a black and white world, remember?

    Sorry about that...

If you send Sarah the name of the dealership, address if you know it and telephone number (optional - if you happen to know what it was) I can tell you true your Grandfathers Hudson dealership will be listed on Sarah's site.
