Does anyone have a diagram or illustration of how the roof antenna:) is connected from the antenna to the thin wire running down the windshield.I have the wire but how does it attach to the antenna itself? Thanks

  • Hudson Mechanical Procedure Manual for 'A' series Hudsons. Page 37 section 6. Full layout. If you don't have one you may want to contact Alex Burr who is on this forum from time to time about getting this page electronically transmitted to you. It's basically a thin wire soldered to the antenna mast that has a terminal end that goes on over the stainless steel lead wire running down the windshield center divider bar.

The complete installation manual can be found on the Southern Calif Chapter Website:

  • Thanks to all with the help on this.I pulled the antenna out and I see from the diagram that the spacer is missing that insulates the antenna from the metal frame.

Thanks to all for this one..just in the nick of time. My 49 is going to be back from the body shop Monday. I took the antenna off in January! Needless to say I had forgotten the order I took the parts off..

  • I got the antenna installed today and it works much better. Here is a picture of the spacer that was missing.
