  • So he's selling it for health reasons. Does that mean it makes him sick???

The seller's claim that this is "...one of the top ten collectable cars in the world" is silly :silly: However, it made me wonder if any data exists indicating just how popular this vehicle is among those who collect classic cars or more specifically, those of us who collect Hudson's?

I love to see "high-end" restored prices on builder cars. Kinda reminds me of the 51 stepdown sedan that is priced at $35k. It must have something to do with the concept that "OK Honey, I'll sell the car." Knowning that they will not need to sell it because they set the reserve too high.
  • He gaurantees the motor to run - you just have to get it un-stuck ? ?

OK I'll take two of those please . . .

Only 910 produced - Standard Catalog of Indepdents says:

    Hornet Special Series 50 -
    Super Hollywood - 229

    Hornet 60 Series
    Custom Six Hollywood - 358
    Custom V-8 Hollywood - 1053

    Total - 1640

body is almost perfect (only needs a few pounds of bondo),17,000original miles (2nd or 3rd time around), been in shed for decades (along with mice and other beasties and a roof that leaks).

We're terrible, aren't we. Poor guy probably wants to get out from under the car and we're tearing him, and the car, apart.

It was probably put in the shed because the 'Ultratragic' transmission gave it up!

Oh, not so terrible- now if he was asking 1500 instead of 15000, I don't think we would be jabbin' him. :cheer: 15 large is a tad more than "getting out from under it".

And I hadn't even thought about the Ultramatic, as Marconi just pointed out. Run, Forrest- Run!

I think I am with Mike on this one. I know that there are not a lot of them on the road today but it was not that long ago that one was on EBay as a fully restored vehicle and it sold for 15K. There is a lot of difference between this car and the one that sold on Ebay.
