47 Pedal Bracket Bushing Wanted
Comments

Hi Lee,
These will most likely be hard to come by in NOS as unless they are in an original box with the part # most guys won't know what they are for.
That said, you might try taking the bracket, and the pedal shaft to a place that rebuilds industrial/commercial electric motors. They should have some bronze bushings that can be fit into the bracket, and reamed out to fit the shaft diameter. If the shaft is badly grooved/worn at the contact area, they should be able to spray-weld up the surface, and machine it back to like new condition.
I did this trick with a badly worn clutch throwout bearing fork cross shaft in the bell housing of a '50 Pacemaker that I did some clutch work on a while back. Worked like a charm!:)
Hope this is a help.0 -
I've had pretty good luck with old-tyme machinist guys- I had a bushing problem once, and while I was explaining the problem, he was "mic-ing" stuff, writing notes on a pad- he finished solving the problem before I finished explaining it. Had my part done in about 15 minutes, and even let me watch.0

I have the complete clutch cross shaft and bushing kit. These cross shafts are all about worn out, starting in '41. '41 is when they changed the bell housing. I found these shafts being worn out,can and most likely causes clutch chatter.CG0

How much is the kit and where are you located. Thanks for the information.

Thanks cargray, I guess I was not clear about my request. The bushing in the bracket that the shaft for the brake and clutch pedals goes through. In the 46-47 Hudson Group Parts Book page 26 is a picture of it. Group and Illustration Number D1-2.
Still searching. Any lead is appreciated.

Thank you all for your help. A new HET member asked for my help to locate this bushing and other parts for his resently purchased Hudson PU. I have passed along your information to him. I've enjoyed the hunt. Most of the parts on his want list have been found.
This forum is full of wonderful people willing to help others. It is a pleasure communicating with you.
Thanks again
