37 timing gear
In the process of putting the timing gear back into the 37 Terraplane 6 and noticed that it would bind some when I torqued it down. This engine had previously been rebuilt and never run. It has an aluminum cam gear and I remembered reading a note in one of Walt's books, about the gear pitch being different for the aluminum gear vs the fiber type and having to have matched crank and cam gears as well as front engine plate mod. The mod had been made but I don't think the crank gear had been changed. I called Dale Cooper and he is sending me an nos fiber cam gear to try.

To use the alloy gear you MUST use the matching crank gear with 20 deg. pitch, otherwise the gears will bind and be extremely noisy.0
