Here's the pics - its a 10-783 in mint condition. I remember I paid over $350 last year. There's no signs of the typical pot metal issues. Its unbelivably pristine.
Broke my heat it won't fit my 29 heat riser.

Forgive me for jumping in here, but having viewed the pics, I can assure you that this carb is for 1930 Hudson 8, and will definitely not fit nor work on your 1930 Essex.

thanks Geoff, i
looked at my car and the number is different mine has 10-195 is it correct and would you know anyone who has a new or rebuilt one or even someone that can rebuild mine? If so how much would it cost me? I am dying to drive my essex .....I keep on shinning it and it is covered up till I can drive her....thanks for your help John0 -
Your best bet would be to make up an adapter plate and fit a Model A Ford carburetor as a temporary measure. They go very well on these. You will have to wedge the hot box throttle wide open and use the Ford throttle. I have an adapter for the '29 hot box, but not for the '30. If you sent me the bolt spacing for the '30 I could make one up for you and supply you with a complete bolt-on unit.

Are you reffering to the heat riser? Do you want a picture or measurement of the center of the bolt holes? What would be the rite ford carb for the essex? thanks again....John0

Yes, the heat riser or hot box, or heat exchanger, whatever you want to call it! Any Ford Model A Carburetor will do, either the original cast iron one, or a Tillotson or Marvel-Schebler replacement type. These are easily obtained.
