still looking for carb for my 1930 essex

Please somebody,anyone know where i can get this carb ????I can't believe it is this hard to find....thanks your friend John from R.I. I looked on the carb for numbers and found 10-195 if that helps.....

John,whats up with the carb you have? I am fairly new to the 30 Essex search but have heard horror stories of Marvel carbs of our vintage crumbling into uselessness
due to low quality "pot" metal used in the diecasting process. In my own case my
1930 coupe came to me with a 1929 engine and NO carb. I eventually stumbled across
a "1931"(later IDed as a 1930) engine/trans from a friend of a friend that knew
somebody street rodding one.I thought I would use that carb on my 29
engine but that doesn't fit either.Currently rebuilding the 1930 engine and haven't
done anything with the carb yet but mine is missing the #'s needed to ID it so far
but the diecast does look to be in good shape so I'm guessing it was cast on a "good"
day. Below is a couple of pics of mine(hoping that Geoff doesn't ID it as something other than a 1930 Essex carb)... I have faith you'll turn one up or enough of one
to repair yours you just never know when. BTW the main body on mine does have the
10-195 casting #.

That looks like the genuine 1930 article to me. They did change the carbs each year, as the technology improved, and as you can see by the 29 and '30 heat exchangers side-by-side, they improved the airflow considerably.

your carb is correct if mine is it is exactly the same as my 30. I think the only thing wrong with mine is the cork float seems to be deteriorated somewhat. My brother in law is a mechanic for a living and he said the carb is flooding out and the smoke I'm getting is the fuel washing down the cylinder walls. I shouldn't run it till i get a carb or at least a float to see if it fixes the problem.....thanks John

I have seen the floats on Ebay. Do a search for "Essex float". I'm having problems
putting a link up.

I hope you have it , I have been looking for weeks now. I have a carb but the cork float is ruined,and it floods the car out too. If you have one is it rebuilt,nos,or at least in good running condition? how much do you want for it? thanks......John

Had a look and I found it.

It is a realy good one but the float has had it[old cork,falling apart] I will be away for a few days and will get photos when I return.
$130 Austrailian Dollars + postage[I will find out how much and let you know]
