I have not been to this swap meet in many years. I have in the past found Hudson parts & alot of neat stuff...Is it the same as long ago with Old Swap meet stuff or is there alot of the new stuff like other swap meets. I know one thing, you better be ready to walk 10 miles..Thanks Ron

  • pomona is a lost cause for HUDSON parts drive 15 miles east to ALBRIGHTS TWIN H RANCH IN FONTANA IF YOU WANT HUDSON PARTS, BILL ALBRIGHT
  • Hey Bill...I have been to your place many years ago. You probably don't have any 29 stuff but I sure do like looking around. Maybe sometime I can drop bye and just walk around and check things out? Are you still on Arrow Hwy. ? What is the address ?? Thanks Ron
  • Ron,

I'm in So Cal also. I was there a just a couple months ago. There are still huge amounts of old parts / Junk vendors and lots of neat and interesting cars forsale. I saw atleast two or three restorable stepdowns forsale and I didn't even look at 75 % of the cars forsale area. As mentioned earlier, the problem with Pomona is being able to find specific items, especially Hudson. They could have them but finding them is a different story. You have to walk 2/3's of it to find what your looking for. Pomona isn't organized in parts section's very well except for the VW / Porsche only section. I bought my restored 1948 California plates and registration tags there and only paid $150 bucks- cheap! There were three or four different vendors selling old plates so I was actually able to do some negotiation.

I'm glad you quit smoking because you will get ALOT of exercise walking there. I just may go there myself. I'm always in the market for a good deal. Niels

Pomona is this Sunday and I will be there and driving my 46 truck. Parking is much better if you bring you Hudson. It trully depends on what you are looking for with the swap meet. If you want owners manuals they have it all the time. Parts??? well I found an orginal tail light for the Truck last time I was there for $5. I have seen fender skirts and visors. but generraly speaking Hudson stuff is rare but it is there if you look. lots of weather stripping and other stuff common to may cars. I have seen a couple of stepdowns for sale over the years, you just never know. Be prepared to walk and you can not do the car show and the parts at one time, it is one or the other. good hunting

  • The Twlin H Ranch Is At 16593 Arrow Bl, Fontana, Ca Always 20 Or More Hudsons For Sale, Bill Albright
  • My buddy sold his Big Red 51 Hornet Sedan at Pomona... in early 90s for $25K... an unheard of price for a Hudson much less a sedan... keep your eyes open... foriegn buyers with guides who want to deal in cash. Also, European film makers buy runnign period 40-60s cars for export. These guys buy the cars and ship to desinations where movies being filmed... was a good business back then.

Get your good shoes on ... and bring several changes of socks to help you meet the walking .... or get one of the golf cart guys to give you a tour for a fee...

    Cheers

Pomona update, I saw the following hudson parts....49 spedo for $150 it was in very good shape but not $150 worth. Hudson tail lights...a few different years and a stepdown dome light, price unknown. I did not see any other Hudson cars besides my truck but I got a lot of attention. I was parked next to 2 50 Ford woodies and I got an much attention as they did and as many pictures. I havd a number of people as me about purchasing a truck and in fact one guy did. Glen J, I spoke to a fellow who purchased a truck just recently from you. He was very happy with the deal and he has a comadore parts car.

moral -- not many parts out there but there are some, you just have to look, and get those Hudsons out there. People want to see them.
