Road Trip

I am driving from Northern Michigan to Colorado starting Friday. Not in a huge hurry. Any good shows or salvage yards on the way? Of course, if there are Hudsons involved, it would be even better. I don't have any route in mind, as I would adjust based on things I find to do. I should have room in the truck if I find anything good (or if anyone needs a part delivery).

OK. I was hoping for a little more action. I guess I will head north to St. Paul. Will there be a swap area? I rarely find Hudson stuff at car shows, but you never know. I picked up a Twin-H manifold and linkage at the Good Guys show in Colorado last week. Guy didn't even now what it was for........

Anyone else have ideas or their own personal salvage yard that needs picking? :cheer:

So I made it to the junk yard yesterday, but not the show. I found 5 stepdowns, all pretty rough, but they had some usable parts on them. The old guy (Duane?) sold the yard to some younger guy (Gaines?), but I think he still has a piece of the action. The young guy asked Duane how much for the Twin-H setup. Duane said $300. I also tried to buy a couple pieces of stainless, but new guy didn't want to sell. I guess they had to split the money, and Gaines must be waiting for Duane to die before he sells anything..... LOL. He had just sold a mid 20's Model T out of the shed when I got there, so maybe he made the rent for this month and didn't need the cash.....who knows. Lot's of great cars in the yard though.

It started to rain, so I didn't feel like driving a few hours out of my way for the show. I did run into a few cars headed north in the rain. I hope the weather held in St. Paul.

I stopped at a couple more yards, but didn't find anything.
