Anybody have a running engine southern california

after giving it much thought... im still back where i started, trying to figure out whether or not to rebuild my engine. i will eventually but i was wondering if anybody in the southern california region had either a good running 262 or 308 that they are willing to part with for a reasonable price. me being a college student, money is tight but i do have some money saved. if you have a 308 i might just rebuild that for my superwasp.
