IF YOU PLAN ON GOING ON GOING PLEASE REGESTER AS THE PEOPLE RUNNING THE MEET HAVE ALOT OF THINGS TO PAY FOR AND YOUR MONEY HELPS PAY

well i'm pretty excited about it. i sure hope it works out that i can go. i am a member, and read about it in the wtn. i didn't prereg because i wasn't totally sure if i could go between work and other stuff. the form did say you can pay the $35 at the show so that's what i was planning on. i didn't know you could sneak in for free!
i was also interested in going to a tech workshop if they have one on the day i go. i saw they were planning some but i don't think they had the schedule finalized when i saw it. can't wait to see all the hudsons and i love parts swap meets.0 -
These meets are held in hotel parking lots and there are no admission fees so all you have to do is bring your camera to take pictures and money for the swap meet. If you wish to register just go into the hotel and there is a registration desk also the club store will have a room inside the hotel so you can buy all the Hudson tee-shirts, hats, and other Hudson related patches, etc.0

I do not want to start a waterfall of "It's a great club" on the post. And I realize that some folks are just not joiners. But, really? think about it for a few minutes. I do not know where else you can find a large grouping of people who think the way you do, act the way you do and are automatically great friends. If you are not a member and you make it to the National stop a few of us and lets talk about what a great car the Hudson is/was. Does not matter if it is an old Hudson, a thirties, forties, stepdown or Hash we just love to talk about them. I'll be easy to find because I plan to spend a lot of time around my car (the one in the avatar). So stop by and tell me about the project you are working or plan to or did work on "back in the day." Hope to see everyone there.... I need a few more friends.0

What Brownie neglected to mention is that this is one of the oddest car clubs ever - there is an extremely thin line between which is more important, the cars or the people!!!
It is a family club - there is no "My car's better than your car" attitude for one thing. Oh, like any family we have our skeletons in the closet, but if somebody does come up with "My car's better than your car" they'll get hit with that great leveler - "Ok. If you say so." End of argument.
Members will bend over backward and go out of their way for you if you need help, or just somebody to talk to. And with just about all of us what goes in the ears doesn't go out the mouth, if that's the way you want it.
Break down near a members home - if he's got room, you got a roof over your head overnight, or a couple days if that's what it takes to fix your car. Need a part to get your car going - somebody will come up with it, And he'll help you fix it if he can. If you're short on cash for a needed part they'll probably just give it to you, maybe with the stipulation that someday you help somebody else.
It is, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest car clubs going - if not THE greatest. I ought to know - I've been agitating people in the club for over 40 years. And tho I've not had a Hudson most of those years I've still been welcomed with open arms.
Thanks everybody. I'm proud to sign my correspondence.........

Hey I didn.t know that I had to belong to the Hudson club to have a Hudson car and post on this site. I have had Hudson cars since the 70s. I used to belong but being in the grest white north it is a long ways to drive or fly. This last Sept I became sick and when I was well enough to go back to work my boss said I had been gone to long so I was layed off. I had been working their a few months short of 6 yrs.
And by asking these simple questions I figure that for now it is not neccary to
belong to the Hudson club. The reason I asked this simple question is that if someone was going that I could get them to buy the seals I need then I would send the money to the buyer of the required rubber seals.0 -
Hey Duncan, what you smokin' son??? You don't have to belong to HET or have a Hudson to post on the forum. Hell, I haven't had a Hudson in over 20 years (tho I've been an HET member more years than I care to admit sometimes) and everybody lets me come and play on the forum and whatever meets, national and local, that I can get to. There are a number of folks posting here on the forum that do not belong to the club. Only site you need to belong to HET to get to is the HET club web site. You do need a membership number to log on there.
While we would love to have you as an HET member (read my post above as to why) but we ain't gonna tar and feather you and ride you out of town on a rail if you aren't.
I think anybody who isn't a member of the club is missing out on a lot of things but that's my opinion. I'll try to help anybody with Hudson problems, member or no - and most members will do the same. I may not be able to give you an answer, but I've been around long enough so that I can probably direct you to somebody who can help you.
Sorry to hear of the layoff - the political policies in this country are sending us to hell in a hand cart.
