Performance build-up of a Splasher 6...
Have any of the memebers here ever done any mild performance build-up of the 212 splasher 6?
I am about to rebuild a 46 212 for the 42 and am looking to find some extra power (read as TORQUE!). There are several things I am going to do while its appart that you would do to any other engine like smoothing the ports, 3-angle valve job, convert the distributer to magnetic trigger.
My question is has anybody tried the higher compression 175 cid cylinder head, performance re-grind of the camshaft, port or extrudehone the exhaust manifold, use the 308 Hornet Carter 2bbl over the stock 212 Carter WDO carburetor?
I'm looking to find about 40lb extra of torque and make it look stock at first glance.
Any of you Hudson engine guys have any other ideas?
