Brakes?

Hello, I'm new on here. I am also new to owning a Hudson. Don't get me wrong, I love my car, but I can't seem to find alot of parts for it. And I'm not talking door panels or chrome trim, I'm talking about basic replacement parts like BRAKES! I started by looking at some auto parts store websites. Autozone: NO BRAKES, NAPA: NO BRAKES, ADVANCE AUTO: NO BRAKES. Now there is still quite a few others out there, but I'm starting to get frustrated here. Google also turned up very little. Can anyone here please help?

Welcome Peacemaker! Any pictures of your 50? Take a look at this link-

page to the bottom and see Dave Kostansek, he has brake parts and I have dealt with him. I am sure others do to. Also, some NAPA stores will send your old shoes to the rebuilders for you.

Also try Rock Auto on line, I just pulled it up and they list your brakes.

Rockauto.com carries your shoes, as well as a lot of other Hudson parts.

Your Pacemaker is 5 in shorter in the front that the bigger Super Sixes, Commadores and Hornets. Some front parts are unique, including the brakes. They are 11 x 1 3/4 instead of 11 x 2 1/4 like the bigger cars.

Easy online catalog. Great people to do business

Really?! It was only a few years ago I got my Pacemaker brakes at Autozone. Said they shared a size in common with some truck or something. Wish I had kept the receipt and part number As far as being new to Hudsoning you really should join the club and plug yourself into the network of people who have parts and get to know the suppliers. If you're outside of the world of Hudsoning it seems impossible but if you're in it it's no harder to own than any other old car. Anyone who says "gosh where would you ever get parts?!" just doesn't know.

I got my shoes at O'Reilly Auto parts.
  • I have found some folks wrongly condem replacement shoes . The problem being they are to thick and need to be cam-ground to fit your drums,
